The Basics of Reading Latin and Conducting Church Record Research: Saturday, May 15th

Our monthly meeting on Saturday, May 15th comes just in time for my personal research projects and they are sure to give yours a boost, as well.  We have two informative and educational sessions lined up.  For the short class, Leslie Carney will present The Basics of Reading Latin.   Genealogy researchers are bound to encounter records in Latin or that use Latin phrases.  In addition to court and legal records in the United Kingdom, many Roman Catholic church records, along with some from other denominations, were written in Latin.

Our initial session is a great warm up for the main program.  May features Deb Kabinier with Conducting Church Record Research.  Church records can be a bonanza of information in your genealogical quest including items such as membership lists, baptismal records, marriage records, and birth and death lists.  Included in those records may be that maiden name for your fourth great grandmother or details of the censure that your Quaker ancestor received.  Please join us for the May Monthly Meeting!
