National Register of Historic Places and the Historical Marker Database Saturday, March 19th

March is warming up in Pima County. Now is the right time to get involved and take your research to the next level. This month we will learn about how to participate in genealogy indexing projects and great uses for the National Register of Historic Places.

Skill Building: Indexing – The Ultimate Gift with Lisa Elvin Staltari

Indexes are a great resource in our genealogical work. Lisa will help us learn how to get involved with indexing to keep the information flowing.  In addition to big name projects like the 1950 Census there are lots of opportunities for you to get involved and give back!

Lisa Elvin Staltari is a genealogist, writer, and speaker. She specializes in French Canadian/Quebec Genealogy in addition to New England. However, her “travels” in genealogy lead her to places as distant as Sweet Home, Arkansas, Hutchinson, Kansas and Seattle, Washington. That is what she loves about genealogy. You just never know where those roots will take you! Have Roots Will Travel is the name of her website and her YouTube Channel.

Community Research Using the National Register of Historic Places and the Historical Marker Database with Peggy Clemens Lauritzen, AG, FOGS

Those metal signs you see on old buildings or the metal historic markers by the side of the road may offer clues to the lives of your ancestors! In this session, Peggy Clemens Lauritzen will teach us about this opportunity to uncover valuable discoveries in your research.

Peggy Clemens Lauritzen, AG, FOGS, Author of several Legacy QuickGuides on Appalachia, she is an instructor at Ancestry Academy, Family Tree University, and columnist for Reminisce magazine.  Peggy was named Fellow of the Ohio Genealogical Society, and is the 2018 recipient of the Laura G.
