Death and Fraternal Organizations on Saturday, June 15, 2019

Join us on Saturday, June 15, for our class, Who Died? When? Where? How? by Edie Sly. The class will be followed by Fraternal Organizations: Find Value in Meeting Minutes and Records by Barbara Salyer.

Who Died? When? Where? How?

This presentation is about finding the death records of our ancestors. In addition to the obvious records, we will explore alternate sources as well as additional information they may contain.

zSLY_EdieEdie Sly started genealogy research in 1984. She has mostly done research in the Midwest part of the United States but has some bits and pieces in the northeast, the mid-south and Texas. Foreign research has included Norway, Germany and Denmark. She was a staff volunteer at the Langley Family History Center for more than 20 years. She has lectured for the Green Valley Genealogy Society many times on many subjects and has also been the lecturer at the Pinal County Genealogist Workshop in Casa Grande, Voyager Resort Genealogy Club, Sun City Vistoso Genealogy Society and several other groups. She is also a former board member of the now defunct Arizona State Genealogy Society.

Fraternal Organizations: Find Value in Meeting Minutes and Records

Fraternal organizations created a variety of records. While some are obviously useful for the genealogist, others take a bit more work. This presentation will examine the usefulness, worth, and accessibility of these records.
