A French-Canadian Daughter or Son of the American Revolution

PCGS Monthly Meeting Saturday, September 17

In our September Hybrid meeting, it’s your choice – come on down to the meeting in person or enjoy the experience in the comfort of your home. Lisa Staltari and Amy Urman are all lined up to present a great program.

Longing to belong: Locating your family in the organizational memberships to further your genealogy

Membership newsletters, applications, meetings, and conference materials can place our ancestor in a certain place and time. Some membership information can include descendants, ancestors, occupations, ethnicities, religions, and hobbies. We will be delving into types of records, finding aids, and examples of what can be found hidden among membership records.

Amy Urman is an experienced speaker, Professional Genealogist and Private Investigator. She holds a General Research Certificate from Boston University and is a graduate of ProGen. She is the co-founder and past president of the Pima County Genealogy Society.

A French-Canadian Daughter or Son of the American Revolution

Discover if your ancestors fought with the Americans during their fight for Independence.   There are a surprising number of people that can trace their heritage to these amazing French-Canadian fighters.  Join us as we explore the world of 1776 and how French Canada, and the Patriots of the Revolutions crossed paths!

Lisa Elvin Staltari is a genealogist, writer, and speaker. She specializes in French Canadian/Quebec Genealogy in addition to New England. However, her “travels” in genealogy lead her to places as distant as Sweet Home, Arkansas, Hutchinson, Kansas and Seattle, Washington. That is what she loves about genealogy. You just never know where those roots will take you! Have Roots Will Travel is the name of her website and her YouTube Channel.

Health Advisory:

Covid transmission is high in Pima County, with Omicron BA 5 as the dominant strain. This variant evades protection from both vaccines and natural immunity, and is more contagious than other variants.  We strongly recommend that you wear a mask to our in-person events.  We also advise you to keep socially distant from others during our meeting out of respect for those who may be more vulnerable.

For those in-person attendees, we will have buttons for you to choose your comfort level concerning being around others. Red: you would like some extra space, Yellow: not ready for casual handshakes or touch, Green: I’m good and ready for a hug. Please respect the button choices of your fellow attendees! Thank you.
